Heyyy. October has officially arrived. It’s nearly time for the temperature to dip, as the need for warm drinks and layers and fireplaces slowly crescendoes. In other words, it’s the beginning (or almost the beginning) of the time where I can yell at the TV on a near-daily basis. Nothing much for today. Another Where We Parked episode was published. I gave it a listen while trying out my new pens. That was fun. I just finished the Zelda stream from… last night? Another one just dropped, but I don’t know if I’ll watch it once I finish writing. I read through Komi-san vol. 23 last night, and I’ll probably read Ouran vol. 6 later. If I have enough time, I might start FMA vol. 13 after that. Oh, and before I forget, today marks an entire month of handwriting entries. Yaaay. 83 pages and counting. By this rate, I might finish this journal before Halloween at least. Crazy. So, yeah. Here come the Real Big Boy Months. September was just a warm-up. I have a feeling that the last third of this year will be No Slouch, so you might as well get ready. Here are today’s cards:

This year’s Fullmetal Alchemist Day is on an Out of Touch Thursday, and… despite my failed attempt at staying awake after getting up early, today was kinda great. For starters, we defeated Boston, which always feels good, even if it didn’t happen in overtime. This game was an Experience, by the way. I watched it online, like the rookie games, since there wasn’t any other option. There was a bit of audio jank in the beginning, but it got fixed. Oh, and since this happened in Quebec, the TV display or whatever was in French, so that was fun. Also, even if I couldn’t live-blog for multiple reasons, the tag still went pretty hard. They were showing some cartoon instead of the game at the start, and it confused Everyone in the tag, myself included. Long story short, if LA keeps that up, we could be in for A Season. A season that starts almost a week from now. Yaaay. We’ll just have to see what happens then. Yeah, so I’m kinda tired right now. I’m gonna eat and continue the Zelda stream I’m on once I finish this. Here are today’s cards:

Here we are: 1 more sleep until hockey. It feels so long since April. I guess the last 6 months have been quite the ride, huh? This whole year has been pretty bonkers, actually. But. Now we are here, on the doorstep of More Hockey. With some Disc Only on the side. I am genuinely looking forward to tomorrow afternoon, even if we mysteriously keep losing to Buffalo out of all teams. We’ll just have to find out if that continues. So, I kinda just read today. Although, it does feel nice Finally getting around to reading the manga that’s been on my desk for over a month at the most. Even if it’s the day before something big, as per usual. I always do this. Oh, so there’s a new episode of Where We Parked. I wasn’t aware until I had to look something up. Should be a fun listen, as per. I also got new chai from the store, which is good. So, yeah. The best part of fall has nearly arrived. Yelling at the TV… Pouring rain… And cute guys. Hell yes. Yeah, so I guess I’ll continue reading once I eat and play Animal Crossing. Much like the date, today was a 10/10. I might’ve ended up having to double-team the game And the podcast, but they both turned out Killer. And, you’ll never guess when it aired. Yeah, so when they were talking about hockey, I just happened to start watching hockey. And so began a very stressful 80-ish minutes. The episode was really good, though. (just tried to look for the aurora outside and immediately went back in because I found a rat as it skittered by…) After that, there was the aurora borealis. At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country localized Entirely within your kitchen. This is eerily similar to May, actually. The Northern Lights happened then, and it happened now. So! I guess I really made it This far without talking about the game. It was a stressful watch, but things got better later on. We’ve somehow managed to lose the season openers and against Buffalo, but not this time. Not this time! What a fresh start this is, huh? We’re coming up roses, baby! Now, if you don’t mind, I’ll be reveling in today’s victories for the time being. It’s a dub for LA, and a dub for begrudged optimism! Hooray! Man, my instinct about something Big on the horizon was truly correct. Goddamn, what a day today was, huh? Here are today’s cards:

Hi. I just had a Great day out. Like I mentioned before, we went to the mall for my brother’s birthday. I enjoy visiting this one in particular because the people I see here are weirder and less conservative-looking. A little less plain, too. There this visit from two years ago that I will never forget. There’s this store inside that has anime merch and cosplay stuff and accessories… It Really caught me off-guard… And then, nearby, there was Another store with anime merch, (and, uh… many other things) but, the main realization I had is that this one had Renai Circulation playing inside. It was surreal. I literally had to check my headphones just to make sure that it was coming from the store. Yeah, so I just bought a Sailor Moon t-shirt and some manga over there. I freaking caught up with FMA last week and I’ve been pretty eager to continue. I just wasn’t expecting it to happen so soon. I also got more Ouran, as well. The other place my brother wanted to go to was Uwajimaya. I was pretty psyched about it because, not only has it been forever since our last visit, (february.) but the noodles & snacks & drinks I get from there Band, and I can’t get most of them at a regular grocery store. This is about that Delicious shio ramen that I can’t even find online. So, we actually visited Uwajimaya kind of frequently last year, and at the back of the store is Kinokuniya, a bookstore. Last year, I spotted, and obtained, all 3 Splatoon artbooks from that bookstore, which is quite a flex, I think. But. One artbook eluded me: Haikara Walker, which is like, an in-universe fashion magazine. What also Intrigued me is that there’s information about the bands who make the multiplayer songs, which is, to me, one of the Greatest aspects of Splatoon, and I Adore how different each band in 2 are. So, when I was about to head inside Uwajimaya, I was like, “there is No Way you’ll find Haikara Walker.” Lo and behold… it was one of the first artbooks I spotted. I’m not sure if I just got lucky, but I’m just gonna say that I did. I also got more Komi-san. So, yeah! Although, there were a couple things waiting for me when I got home. Sure, there was my new nail polish and my next journal, but there was also… my first mail-in ballot. This is my first time voting, so it’s honestly kinda nerve-wracking. But, I’ve got Strong Opinions, which I think is the only thing you need in this context. Sure is something to think about, huh? And don’t get me started about Election Day. I might actually Lose it. Although, there Is a game that night. It could help calm my nerves. Well, it’s a bit early for that, and it’s 3 in the morning now, so here are today’s cards:

So. I guess I was hoping for a fresh start after the rough game last night. Well…? So, I woke up around noonish, checked YouTube, and found out some bad news. So, I ended up going back to sleep. I also ended up getting out of bed at 3pm. I guess it’s why I’ve felt crappy all day. At one point, after I finished my dailies, I got really upset about ~coquette girlies~, or those girls who somehow believe that being feminine means that you’re frail and helpless and completely dependent on someone else. Long story short, that’s just Aggravating to me. It’s wrong on so many levels. I hate it. Yeah, so we did go thrifting later. I initially wasn’t finding much, but I double-checked the books and found a copy of Pride and Prejudice. Y’know, a regular one. We also went to the store for a bit. I got some more nail polish. Moving on, we are Finally playing at home tomorrow evening!! It only took… two weeks. Four if you include pre-season. The only thing is that it’s against San Jose. I’d say more, but I don’t want to jinx anything. For the time being, I’m just hungry. I think I could potentially start the Nancy Drew streams tonight, though. Here are today’s cards:

This month’s Splatfest started earlier, so I had to finally see what they had for Halloween specifically, since the seasonal ones have a little more to them. I was especially curious about Off the Hook, since the idols have cool costumes, (Especially Deep Cut) for seasonal Splatfests. I didn’t hear about it ahead of time, but they ended up using the Chaos v. Order outfits for Off the Hook. Which happens to be another part of Splatfest I haven’t seen in-game yet. I’ve gotta wonder what they’ll do for FrostyFest. (some guy just raced right past my window. they’re totally not sober.) Yeah, so the first two Nancy Drew streams are from May 2017, and this particular game concerns a boarding school that’s 2 centuries old and kinda strange. The point is that (another speeding??) there’s people in the chat who’re making Harry Potter references, and it’s just a bit awkward, isn’t it? I guess this was Before J.K. Rowling made all of those Disgusting remarks. I can’t even decide on whether this is surprising when it comes to This Fandom or not. Still, one of the reasons why I tend to rewatch the Nancy Drew streams with [name] is that really interesting variety of media that’s brought up either by the chat, or by [name]. Not only is there all of the Steven Universe talk, but, as I mentioned last month, the last Nancy Drew stream (on YouTube, at least) went live the same day The Last Jedi premiered in theatres. I know that’s not all that illustrious, but it Fascinates me. Moving on, today was alright. I had a Weird dream about this guy with a sort of cult of personality who’s trying to manufacture everything under the sun. I had a bit of a headache when I woke up, so it took me a while to get up to do my dailies. I didn’t do much other than Splatoon, though. But I Did finish my ballot though. I just needed to sign the return envelope. So. Tomorrow should be interesting. There’s a game at 1pm, but I can’t watch it live for several reasons. Even still, there’s a couple things I hope to see and hear when I finally can watch it tomorrow evening. This means that I can’t check YouTube nor tumblr while we’re out, which is at least a hearty 6-8 hours. Not only should it be raining, but I think we’re going to In-n-Out, too. If I remember correctly, I think it’s been 2 months since that last happened. (ooh. last page. hooray!) Here are today’s cards:

At long last, I have Finished a journal. For a time, I thought I would’ve finished closer to Halloween. My only wish for now is… well… maybe I shouldn’t write it down. Heyy. I’m breaking into a new journal a week after receiving it in the mail. I’ve got my Saturday shorts on a Saturday night. Today was pretty great. Got In-n-Out, chocolate muffins, a slice of mango cake, and the new Splatoon amiibos ordered. It was actually rainy outside, (still is, obviously.) and the game today was great. Mostly because BC actually scored. Oh, and there was this sense of community I’ve felt when it comes to LA sports recently. It’s mostly been this week, but it feels nice. Like, genuinely. It’s a feeling I actually kinda miss. Speaking of feelings, I sense that almost every single Christmas thing will be up and running in a week from now. It’ll be the calm before the storm once that’s happening. Good thing I mailed in my ballot earlier today. To celebrate my first time voting, I’m going to have one of my chocolate muffins later. Not only will I be watching a video essay, but I haven’t had one in 3 months. It’s gonna be great. Especially with the heavy rain outside. It’s 2am now, so here are today’s cards:

Oooh. Even if I haven’t thought that much about it this year, (which is weird for my standards) I’m really looking forward to the holiday season. Last year’s was nice, and even cozy at parts, but it kinda had a Lot to live up to. When it comes to the next month, all I know is: Honey, you’ve got a big storm coming. Goddamn, a lot happened today. So. I ended up having a Weird time going back to sleep. I somehow woke up at 8:30 or so. I think I got back to sleep and woke up around noon, but there were 2 things that happened once I got up, finally, around 3. 1: I got the new Squid Sisters amiibo! They look real nice and arrived a-okay. 2: apparently Nintendo put out their own streaming service for music??? I, of course, was Stupid curious, so I had to check it out at some point. There were two games in the decent-enough selection that caught my interest, and one of them was Tomodachi Collection, which doesn’t officially exist outside Japan. It literally was one of the two DS soundtracks available on it. Well, as someone who thinks about and listens to Nintendo music way too much, I still have Other Options, (see: my Gargantuan MP3/FLAC collection) so I’m not completely mind-blown. And unsurprisingly, there’s not a huge selection, and a lot of them are Switch titles. They did, however, have the music from the Wii’s own channels? Like, not just the Legendary Mii and Wii Shop Channels, but the Check Mii Out, Photo, and Local Forecast Channels as well. So, one of the games I Had to check out was Pikmin 4. The two boss themes I listened to (giant breadbug and ancient sirehound) weren’t totally butchered, mostly just the phases for the final boss were in a different order. Of course, the crazy amount of separate enemy themes weren’t added, but I was surprised that they added the cute little songs the pikmin ocassionally sing, as well as those little music box covers. Also, I think I was Literally Required to check the Splatoon 3 soundtrack. It’s good. It’s up to base game + some Splatfest stuff. I can’t use it to jam out w/ Ska-BLAM! or to cry my eyes out w/ Spectrum Obligato, but still solid. They should be adding more music, so if that’s like the NSO updates, we should be good. I’m definitely curious to see if there’ll be any more oddball selections like Tomodachi Collection. Yeah. So. We sure had a game this evening! It coincided with the Dodgers winning the World Series, which was being shown During and At the Kings game I was watching, so there were points in the game where people were getting up and cheering at what felt like strange moments. The Dodgers actually won during our second intermission, so I was excited to see that they were still showing the game during then, and then they showed the audience pop off when that ended. The actual Kings game was Great, though. Not only was it cathartic after Last Night, but it was also cathartic after the previous game against Vegas. So, yeah. I actually didn’t get my Off the Hook amiibo today because they were sent to the wrong post office. Although, I don’t really plan on doing anything for Halloween. I’ll probably put on the playlist I made and watch even more Homestar Runner toons. For now, I’m gonna eat and do whatever else. Here are today’s cards:
