It’s November!! It’s also… the officially unofficial start of the Holiday Season. I used to lean into this bit Hard. Back in Elementary, I used to check out the Christmas stuff they’d add on TV while having my Halloween candy. Then, several days or weeks down the line, I would put on that Music Choice channel and just have Christmas music on in the background. I became really kind of reluctant when it came to dusting off my Christmas playlists last year. I was waiting for a better moment that wasn’t Bright and Early on November 1st. I kept trying to utilize it on weekends, but it didn’t feel even remotely right until the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I’ve already mulled over this this year, and I think I’ll end up doing the same thing. Unless Something ends up happening tomorrow. But like, it feels weird doing this bit when the election’s happening next week. Especially with what happened last time. I’m not just cold, but hungry, too. Here are today’s cards:

Heyyy. I have been writing in this journal for A Whole Week now. We ended up just barely losing the game today, which kinda sucks. Although, I do feel a little better after noticing that John Mulaney hosted this week’s SNL episode. Even if it’s a bit ironic. Oh, and my mom brought up the Nintendo Music app on the way home earlier. Right when I was looking through it. Speaking of music, I didn’t particularly feel like taking out the Christmas playlist. Then I saw how much of the decorations they had out at Target and I was like, “ugh, fine.” So I put on a Couple songs from my Christmas playlist. Still a bit too early to dust the whole thing off. Yeah, so it’s almost 2 in the morning, and I want to cash in that extra hour that’s happening sometime tonight. I should also figure out what I did during the last election week, since I remember doing a sorta of social media detox four years ago. Or, at least before SUPERHELL happened. Like, should I remotely even Think about 11-5-20?? Should I?? Well, whatever happens, I might benefit from directing my attention Away from the news this week. When it comes to Mondays, today was pretty good. I got up at the right time, did my dailies… Earlier, I noticed that Disney’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland was on downstairs. I haven’t really watched it before, especially after reading the actual book last month. It was neat, actually. The way Alice in Wonderland has influenced pop culture also really fascinates me. Like, it’s rather prominent in Japanese media specifically, and that’s been something I’ve been curious about. There’s the Panic! Album Pretty. Odd., which I should listen through again once I finish Through the Looking Glass. Speaking of music, the Donkey Kong Country 2 soundreack was added to Nintendo Music before the game started. I just showered an hour or two prior, so I was kinda cold. But when I was listening to that while under a heated blanket… that felt so very nice. And I guess the game followed suit. We ended up shutting out Nashville, which must be scary to be in this week. A fun coincidence was that they were having their own Star Wars Night, which compelled me to look through some memes and such on pinterest. So, I guess the Force was with us tonight. It does now remind me of back in July, when I was half-asleep and exhausted in a Seattle hotel room, while The Last Jedi was on TV. Out of all of the many memories I have of this past summer, that one is weirdly vivid. So, yeah. Even if today was good, whether or not this energy will continue remains to be seen. To be honest, I’m not looking forward to the rest of this week. Judging on how things went last time, I’m kinda agonizing over it. I already might need to stay away from tumblr for hockey reasons, but I should still try to put my attention somewhere else. I’ll probably read & continue Scruffy’s Pikmin 2 streams before I watch the game. So, yeah. Here goes. I don’t know what I’ll wake up to tomorrow, but it’ll surely be… Something. Oh, god. Here we go again. 4 years of SUPERHELL. I’ve sort of got déjà vu right now, and it’s not the cathartic chaos I’m feeling. Despite the uneasiness and looming agony, today actually wasn’t that bad. I got up on time and did everything else all according to keikaku. My nerves may be on the fritz right now, but the game today was also great, actually. It’d be cool if it was also a shutout, but 5-1 works for me. So, not only are we 1st in the Pacific Division, we’re 3rd in the Entire League. It may not be for long, but I’ll take it. Before the game, though, Mary Poppins was on TV. Much like with Alice in Wonderland, I feel like this rarely happens. The thing is that I Adore Mary Poppins, ever since I first saw it when I was about 5 or so. It’s probably why I love British pop culture so much, now that I think about it. I couldn’t watch the second half due to hockey reasons, but seeing the first was delightful. So, yeah. I probably shouldn’t touch tumblr for the rest of the night at least. I’ll just try to play Animal Crossing and watch the Pikmin 2 streams before bed. Day 2 of election week. Not only have I been perpetually on the verge of tears for the last 24 hours, I fear that I’m growing complacent about the trash fire that this downward spiral might be leading us towards. It could lead us to a conceptual time-loop where things just reset back to 2017. Surprisingly enough, I actually don’t know how to feel about it. Even with the amount of good memories I have with that year. Like, things have Changed since then. I don’t think I will experience That legendary snowstorm and the presentation of Nintendo’s next console in the span of weeks ever again. Or spending almost a month in hotel rooms while in the process of moving. I’d still really like to Move Out of here, though. Even if I feel kinda hopeless and overwhelmed right now, I can’t admit defeat just yet, can I? That’s been the lesson of the year, by far. So, I eventually resorted to stress-cleaning earlier. I cleaned and moved stuff on my desk around, as well as removed the flimsy old bookcase near the window. I want to add a thing to my room, but I don’t know what. Which is why I began making a garland with paper cranes. This election & my mental state might be a complete and total mess, but at least my room isn’t. Ooh, boy. My heart wasn’t really in the wrong place or anything, but I guess reality didn’t really settle in for me last night. I think there’s gonna be another horse in the hospital. That is, assuming I heard correctly. So, exactly one good thing happened today, and that’s the new Mario & Luigi game came out today. I don’t know if [name] or whoever else is streaming it, but I hope that it’s good, and that it has a killer soundtrack. By Shimomura, ideally. Although, I’m still stupid curious is anyone from Alphadream was involved, especially since that studio bit the dust several years ago. Before I bring up today’s game, I just remember how we were supposed to get nail polish in the mail, but something happened to it. I hope no one didn’t swipe it on purpose. It has such nice packaging, and I’d really like to see it in person. Undisturbed, ideally. Yeah, so the game today was kinda rough. In a way, it sort of brought me back down. Afer the emotional roller coaster This Week had the Audacity to put me through, I’m glad to say that it has ended on a much better note. First, I awoke to the notification for Extra Life. Even if I didn’t bother, since I knew I’d be too busy to pay attention. I’ve also said my piece on how and why this chat in particular just Aggravates me. I’d go on again if it wasn’t 2 in the morning. The thing about this stream is that it goes on for over 12 hours, so it’s probably still live as I’m writing this. Yeah, so today’ was pretty great. We ended up going to the mall near the end, which made me Actually put on my Christmas playlist. The Spotify one. It didn’t go on for long enough, but it still was pretty exciting. The game today was also pretty exciting. Definitely better than the previous one. Not only that, but we’re once again 1st in the division. Not only are we a photogenic team, we’re a pretty killer team as well. Although, I can’t help but think of that image with the Australian speed skater guy in front of other speed skaters who’ve toppled over. Even still, I definitely won’t turn it down. This godforsaken week is finally, sincerely, over. Thank god. I was in the shower an hour ago. Didn’t do much else. I guess the highlight is that the nail polish arrived today. The packaging is as nice as I hope it looked. It’s a big box that’s a bit holographic, and it has drawers inside. One of the nail polish shades is a really pretty, shimmery, and dark shade of purple. Oh, and I started Through the Looking Glass when I finished everything. I figured that I should, since the Nancy Drew game in the stream I’ve been watching recently, The Silent Spy, references it quite a lot. I also, y’know, kinda have 3 books on my desk that I should be reading. Oh, right. I remember how I saw a tumblr post where someone was thinking about how it might feel like the mid-2010s again. This has been on my mind all day. Like, the amount of parallels this year has had compared to 2016 is Scary, almost. If there isn’t several instances of snow before the year ends, then the “here comes 2017 2: Electric Boogaloo” theory is right out the window. I mostly want the parts w/ crazy snow, video games, online friends, Bill Wurtz, SiivaGunner, and Love Live!!. Oh, and spending All of my freetime writing and drawing. The only thing I really did today was listen to Where We Parked. It was really great and Very nostalgic for me, specifically. This episode of Where We Parked was about OneRepublic, this band from the early-mid 10s that Disney was strangely partial to. When Mr. Perjurer first name-dropped the band, I immediately knew that he was about to bring up the song, “Good Life.” There’s this video by Disney with that song, that was filmed in NYC, and I, back in 2011 or so, thought it was the Coolest Thing. But, uh, turns out it was used a Multitude of times. Another song by OneRepublic, “Secrets,” was also brought up. So, in 3rd grade, the music teacher showed us this Star Wars parody by this YouTube channel who does music covers w/ cellos and pianos. There’s this other cover called Beethoven’s 5 Secrets, which is a mash-up of Beethoven’s 5th, and of course, Secrets. I remember being especially attached to both OneRepublic songs back in October 2019, which was when I had this huge, nostalgic bias towards the early 2010s. The music, especially. When I finished listening to that episode and Salmon Run, I put on this playlist I have of music that’s strictly from 2012 or prior, so it’s pretty nostalgic. Later on, though, there were two other songs that the podcast episode mentioned: Some Nights by fun. and another song that I ended up having to look up. It was some stomp-clap-“hey!” song that I’m sure was All Over the radio back then. There’s also a non-zero chance that it played in-between periods back in middle school. So, uh. This song is called, “Ho Hey,” and it’s by The Lumineers. Like, That’s what it’s called? Seriously? At some point today, I felt like I was in early 2010s pop purgatory, and with no Lady Gaga, Adele, or Rihanna in sight. It’s all just white indie folk guys, like, all the way down. Speaking of Adele, today, (during the podcast) I learned that someone from OneRepublic wrote her song, “Rumour Has It.” Crazy. It’s like when I found out that Nate Ruess (from fun.) was one of the writers for Die Young by Kesha. So weird. Eventually, in the 2010s-flavored distress I’ve been in the past week or so, I began drawing Noelle, who’s a wintery sorceress OC I’ve had ever since I heard Wizards in Winter eight years ago. The thing is that the outfit I put her in looks a lot like something I’d come up with 8 years ago. Not only that, but next month (almost exactly) marks 8 years since I was stranded at middle school for several hours due to sudden heavy snow and the buses that got stuck at a hill because of it. So, long story short, I’m getting déjà vu right now. Oh, and before I forget, there was a very elaborate and uniformly cryptic tour announcement from My Chem earlier. One thing I got out of it is that we could be in Seattle when they play over there in July. Yeah, so it’s 2am now. I’m hungry and want to go back to the drawing I mentioned. Here are today’s cards:

It is Wednesday, my dudes. The game earlier suddenly went south later on, and I’ve felt kinda tired and listless since. My head kinda hurts, too. After, I lied down for a while and drew a little, but now we’re here. The only other interesting thing that happened today is that, I’m in this tumblr group for the DS and 3DS, and one member commented on my post, saying that they’re in my Switch friends list. Sure enough, they’ve been added by me for the last six years. Of course, it was when I was playing Splatoon 2. It really is a small world after all, huh? Goddamn. I’ve got to wonder if there’s more from where that came from. Oh, and I guess Jon went live. Watching that and the game sounded like a bad idea, so I passed on it. Yeah, so Siivagunner had this event today that was based on the Gummy Bear Song. I couldn’t help but think of this fundraiser event from middle school, in which they played that song, between periods, for an entire week. I have a feeling that it was treated as a sort of “omg so quirky!!” thing, though. It’s kind of late right now. I think I’ll just draw after eating and Animal Crossing. Here are today’s cards:

Oh, and I watched some of Bill Wurtz’s videos earlier. The last Monday of this month marks 2 Years of him not uploading. Last I heard, he’s gradually working through a ton of videos, and he’s going through the same phase on multiple videos. Whenever he reaches the “actually uploading” phase, we are in for something Good. I can tell. Holy hell. I just refreshed YouTube, and there’s a ripe, new fan edit of [name]’s Rhythm Heaven Megamix streams. It is nearly 2 hours long. Well, I definitely know what I’ll be watching once I finish this. Sunday. Overslept. Dreamt about being proposed to by someone on my team. I feel like I’ve had this dream before. Moving on. I finally finished and printed out my Christmas list. One of the later things I added was a messenger bag. I’ve kinda grown to dislike the kånken backpack, and the Coach purse I have is rather small. Back in June, I started looking through Flickr photos of the things people had in their bags, which Fascinated me. Even if I only go out once a week, having a handy bag akin to the ones I’ve seen on Flickr would be pretty ideal. When we were in the midst of moving in February/March 2017, I had this Roxxy bag that I was able to hold So Much in. Oh, and I just had “Telephone,” by Lady Gaga and Beyonce playing in my earbuds, so I felt kinda nostalgic just now. I’m hungry, and I want to make some rice after I finish this. It sucks, but that does make more time just for myself. BDG uploded another song, and there’s finally a pair of new SiivaGunner albums. (goddamn, the early 2010s. Why can’t we go back There instead of the mid-2010s??) So, what I mainly did today was shower and paint my nails. I also figured out that 6pm is when the Nintendo Music app adds something new on Monday evenings. Although, I wasn’t really interested in this week’s addition. (how many european museums have online gift stores that ship to the U.S.? I wouldn’t be surprised if ordering’s expensive, but still.) It’s between that and actually listening through an entire Lady Gaga album for once. Like, an early one. But, the thing is that I’m Hungry, and I don’t know how much Nancy Drew I have left to watch. Hi. Today was kinda weird. Before I went to sleep, I listened to The Fame by Lady Gaga for the first time. In the span of 50 minutes, my feelings took a complete 180°. I inexplicably started crying near the end, and I just couldn’t stop. I’ve literally gone 2 weeks without crying. I suddenly had the need to experience listening to it with friends as a shy high schooler in 2008. I thought my period was about to start sometime today, but it didn’t. Somehow. So, yeah. I had a dream on my mind, saw that a Paris vlog (that I’ve yet to watch) was uploaded, and continued fixing that printing error. I’m actually getting really close. Yeah, so. This week is almost over. it’s another Friday. Headline: after 3 months and 5 days, I have Finally fixed the text on my A Tangled Web copy. It turned out that I had one page left to fill. Nevertheless, I know what I’m doing after this, and on Sunday. Oh, and I watched the Paris vlog I mentioned yesterday. Even if the summer officially ended 2 months ago, I still find it fascinating. Around the time the Olympics were happening in August, I went through and watched almost every Paris vlog from the same channel. Even if I was hot and/or miserable this past summer, that couple of weeks were really fun. I especially loved noticing some of the filming locations when they appeared in the vlogs I watched. I’m looking forward to tomorrow, by the way. I think this is truly when the fabled Holiday Chaos begins. If we end up going to Any shopping mall, inside or not, in the next month or so, I’m gonna be rather happy about it. So, yeah. I guess it’s full speed ahead starting tomorrow. Exciting. (my mom and I were watching this Formula 1 race after today’s game when the guy they were talking to brought up the captain of my team??? Is it a Small World or what?? I feel like my team has been getting some Attention from the F1 girlies, but it did really surprise me. Especially since it happened Right when I was showing my mom something about them!!) Hi! It’s Saturday. Today was great, actually. Since we had to wait a while to leave, we ended up watching the game live. Two-thirds of it, anyway. Really good two-thirds, actually. So, not only did I get sweets and more nail polish, I got more books! I bought Komi-san vol. 25 and Ouran vol. 8. I kinda wanted to get Anne of Green Gables, but the covers weren’t in great quality. So I took a gamble and got More Jane Austen. I ended up with Northanger Abbey. Coincidentally, the cover literally has the Ace Flag colors. Oh, and this might be the first time I’ve been in the particular shopping mall during the Holiday season, so that was exciting. And my Christmas playlist Did hit, thanks for asking. It’s a solid start so far. (there was this girl in front of us in the line for ice cream at the mall last week who had this bag with pins on it. not like an ita bag, but perhaps a sort of cross-body bog. just something on my mind. and I’ve been having dreams about moving a Lot in the past month or so. what’s with that?) it’s sunday again. I slept in and went to the store when I was woken up. It had their Christmas stuff on display and Hot Chocolate to sample. I’d been awake for only 30 minutes, but I was in a very good mood. I ended up getting a new Jellycat plush as well. It’s a boiled egg with a pair of little round glasses and little red shoes. When I got home, I had three things to watch, and they were very different from each other. I watched a review of the new Wicked movie and a vlog that was filmed in the Paris Catacombs. One of these… stick out from the other. Fittingly enough, when I got to that vlog, the tea I made was in a mug with ghosts on it. So, deep under Paris, there are these very dark and very winded tunnels that have deep, 5-foot Walls of Centuries-Old Human Bones in them. I knew it was going to be spooky and eerie, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so thought-provoking. Like, all of those remains belonged to Leagues of Real People with hearts and minds. At one point, there was even a heart shape fashioned out of skulls, which is Very goth. There’s a gift shop at the end of the Catacombs, which feels kinda whiplashy, and I found the Jellycat Skeleton plushie in the background, which feels… I’m not sure, but I do have the keychain version. But, like, aren’t there sewers at least Near the Catacombs, or are they not open to the public? Because, they appear in the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics this year. I was also reminded of Fossiles and Especially Danse Macabre by Saint-Saëns while watching. They’re both Very appropriate in this context, but Fossiles feels a little more light-hearted. Despite that heavy subject matter just now, this was a nice end to the week. But I am now Cold and Hungry, so here are today’s cards:

It is Wednesday, my dudes. The only thing that really happened today was the game, and I was kind of intimidated early on. I am glad to announce that it was, in fact, a banger game. It was a lot like the games that happened a month ago, but with less baseball. And maybe more catharsis? Anyways, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Okay, so hot take: out of all the birds to cook up for a huge dinner, turkey is the blandest option. Also, it’s just a strange holiday to me. Like, is it really That important? The thing I’m most excited for is the Pregnant Turkey story that Always shows up on tumblr for Thanksgiving. And maybe the theatre performances during the parade. And pie. Not only that, but it’s always so cold and Windy every time we go pick up Thanksgiving dinner. The transition to the Actual, Honest-to-God Holiday Season is pretty nice, too. Oh, and I also watched a review on Moana 2 today. Initially, I wasn’t that confident, since what I’ve been hearing sounded pretty sketchy. Part of me thought it was going to be the first movie again. It kinda isn’t. Apparently it (a bug landed right next to me.) was supposed to be a TV series, but they decided to make it a movie?? That aside, apparently it’s kinda bland. Like, not watching movies is my Talent. I am impossibly good at it. Yeah, so. It’s late and I’m hungry. Here are today’s cards:

(i’m starting this entry at almost 2:30 am because i have been dealing with some Stomach Cramps, since my period started earlier.) It’s Black Friday! Again. It doesn’t affect me, as the first thing I did today was watch the game. It was really good. It’s always a good day to defeat Anaheim. We went out to get our Christmas tree once that ended. I was reminded of how that happened last year. Well, it turns out that it was verbatim compared to today. If this were to continue, then it’s about that time of year when it feels kinda magical watching my team play at home. Not only that, but I think we’re going somewhere different tomorrow. I wouldn’t mind if it’s a different store instead of another. We rarely go to the other. Probably because the locations are usually in sketchy locations. It’s probably why we rarely go there. Also, I’m looking forward to Sunday, so I can actually sleep in. Not only that, but I’ve barely been able to read. Sucks, since I kinda have three that I’m on currently… It’s 3:30.
